Greetings!
You
are invited to join the San Diego Renewable Energy Society (SDRES)
on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 7pm for our third
seminar in a continuing series on Energy Efficiency: "Energy
Efficiency in commercial
buildings and retrofit market
opportunity."
Commercial
buildings consume a significant portion of energy produced in the
US, which means there is a significant opportunity to make them
energy efficient.
The
two speakers, Frank Shadpour, P.E., LEED AP, and Harry
Sim will talk about the current state of commercial building
energy efficiency and the opportunity to retrofit the existing
buildings and discuss the implications of mandatory requirements
and potential savings. They will share some details of some of the
projects and potential energy savings (HVAC, lighting, access,
steam, building controls systems, etc).
Since
there is a large inventory of commercial buildings in the US, the
opportunity for commercial
building retrofit business and energy savings is huge.
The
speakers are industry leaders and have in depth knowledge about
building envelope, HVAC , Lighting, building management systems
and building systems commissioning. This will be an
information packed and exciting event to learn about new
opportunities in energy efficiency.
About
the speakers: Mr. Frank Shadpour is the president of SC
Engineers. He is an ASHRAE Fellow and a registered Mechanical
Engineer. He has been the instructor of "HVAC Design &
Control" courses at the University of California, San Diego
since 1987 and is past President of ASHRAE, San Diego. Currently,
he serves as the Program Chair of ASHRAE Technical Committee TC1.4
